The 39th Annual Meeting of the National Fiberglass Specialized Intelligence Network and the Meeting of the Fiberglass Branch of the Chinese Society of Silicates were held.

On May 29, 2018, the 39th Annual Meeting of the National Fiberglass Specialized Intelligence Network and the Meeting of the Fiberglass Branch of the Chinese Society of Silicates were successfully held in Chongqing. More than 380 representatives from both upstream and downstream sectors of the fiberglass and composite materials industry gathered together to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the birth of China’s fiberglass industry and to celebrate “May 30 National Science and Technology Workers’ Day.” Focusing on the conference theme of “Innovation, Collaboration, Green Development, and Transformation,” the participants discussed key issues such as fiberglass production and manufacturing, green environmental protection, and application development, aiming to enhance technological exchanges and promote the healthy and orderly development of the fiberglass industry.

CPIC and OC establish a strategic partnership to invest in and build an 110,000-ton-per-year high-modulus fiberglass production line.

On April 3, 2018, CPIC signed a Memorandum of Intent for Cooperation with Owens Corning Composite Materials (China) Co., Ltd., and on June 26, they formally signed a cooperation agreement for the high-modulus fiberglass project. In this strong partnership, the two parties plan to jointly invest in and build, in the first phase, an 110,000-ton-per-year high-modulus fiberglass pool kiln production line in Chongqing.

China National Materials Technology Corporation plans to launch a project to build a 120,000-ton-per-year alkali-free fiberglass pool kiln drawing production line.

On February 12, China National Materials Group Technology Co., Ltd. issued an announcement stating its intention to launch a project to build a pool-furnace drawing line for alkali-free glass fiber with an annual production capacity of 120,000 tons. According to the announcement, the total investment for this project—featuring a pool-furnace drawing line for producing 120,000 tons of alkali-free glass fiber annually—amounts to 11,829.4 million yuan.
