Method for Manufacturing Self-Adjusting, Lift-and-Fold Window Screens

  In current technologies, curtains and mosquito nets are typically installed separately. Mosquito nets are often fixed, with wooden frames that are mounted on the inside of glass windows. Once installed, these fixed nets can interfere with the smooth opening and closing of curtains also mounted on the inside of the same windows, thereby affecting the functionality of both window components. However, simply installing curtains alone is insufficient to effectively block dust and insects such as mosquitoes and flies. Moreover, existing curtain designs generally come in two main types: one is a folding plastic louvered curtain, and the other is a fabric curtain that opens and closes from side to side. The louvered curtains are heavy overall and cumbersome to install. When multiple layers of side-opening fabric curtains are arranged together, the cords or mechanisms used to control their opening and closing tend to get tangled, leading to loss of operational control. Furthermore, both of these curtain types serve only a single purpose—providing shade—and lack versatility. In modern interiors, finding an easy-to-install, practical, and aesthetically pleasing curtain solution often brings considerable peace of mind. People are now eager for a new, multifunctional type of curtain that can simultaneously serve as both a mosquito net and a regular curtain. Folding window screen


  The folding window screen not only provides shade but also effectively blocks mosquitoes, flies, and dust. It comes equipped with both a mesh screen and curtains, allowing users to freely adjust the degree of opening and closing of the folding window screen for convenient operation. This invention comprises a curtain body, pull cords, and a cord-locking mechanism. Its distinctive feature is that the housing is fitted with a rotary shaft return device designed to hold the curtain body in place. The rotary shaft return device can be securely fixed to the baseplate via a support frame. A frame provided with a curtain-pressing groove is connected to the baseplate. The rotary shaft return device consists of a rotating shaft fixed at both ends to the support frame used for winding the curtain body, a guide shaft that directs the movement of the curtain body, and flexible return springs installed at both ends of the rotating shaft. Depending on the number of layers in the folding window screen, the rotary shaft return device can be configured as one or more sets.

  The advantage of this new type of folding screen window mesh is that the return mechanism for the pivoting shafts within the curtain can be configured in multiple groups, depending on the number of layers in the folding screen—whether it’s one group, two groups, or more. Each layer of the curtain is wound around its own dedicated pivoting shaft, and the number of curtain layers can be freely adjusted according to different seasonal and environmental requirements. The curtain can be used either as a single layer or with multiple layers simultaneously. Under the action of the pivoting shaft rotation mechanism, the folding screen window mesh can automatically roll up; and with the help of the cable-locking device, it can be securely held at any desired position—either fully raised or fully lowered—making operation both convenient and allowing for free movement between these positions. The overall structure is simple yet highly practical, offering a wide range of functions and excellent decorative effects. Importantly, this design does not interfere with the normal use of existing windows of various configurations.


  Since the curtain fabric of the folding screen is wound around a rotating shaft, the curtain can freely slide down along the guide rail. If you want the curtain to stop at a specific position, simply pull the control cord to lock it in place. As the curtain slides down, the rotating shaft turns, causing the torsion elements of the flexible retractors mounted at both ends of the shaft to twist. The more the curtain descends, the more intensely it twists—meaning the torsional force increases as the curtain lowers. Once the control cord loses its locking function, the curtain will automatically rise under the influence of the torsional force and roll back to its original position.


  The rotary-axis return mechanism can be configured in multiple sets as needed. For example, the outer curtain panel can use a screen mesh; after the lower end of the curtain panel is pulled down, it can be secured with hooks. The presser groove on the frame tightly presses the screen mesh around its perimeter, effectively preventing dust and insects from entering and thus serving as a screen window. Additionally, different thicknesses and textures can be installed on the rotating shafts of other sets of rotary-axis return mechanisms.
