Tests have shown that in the hot months of July and August, under a 25-mesh white mosquito net, morning and evening temperatures are the same as those in open fields, and on sunny days, the temperature is about 1℃ lower than in open fields at noon. In early spring, from March to April, the temperature inside a greenhouse equipped with mosquito netting is 1-2℃ higher than outdoors, and the soil temperature at 5 cm depth is 0.5-1℃ higher than outdoors, providing effective frost protection. Moreover, the insect-proof netting can prevent some rainwater from entering the greenhouse, reducing field humidity, decreasing the incidence of diseases, and minimizing water evaporation inside the greenhouse on sunny days. If the insect-proof netting is directly placed over the greenhouse frame and the edges are firmly pressed down with soil or bricks, it’s important to note that the netting is actually secured using tension wires. To use this method effectively, combine the tension wires with plastic film rolls, leaving the front door open for easy access. Alternatively, you can bend bamboo strips or rebar into small arch frames, insert them along the field edges, cover the arches with insect-proof netting, and then directly irrigate the netting.
